Anti-Mormonism the New Anti-Semitism? Part 2

Thanks for all the comments. This is very disturbing, but I think it is important to see.

Here is video of Lawrence O'Donnell's Anti-Mormon rant that is mentioned the in the article linked below. I usally do not agree with Pat Buchannan, but he is right on this. Mr. O'Donnell has been kick of the McLaughlin Group by the way.

Mr. O'Donnell plays a Mormon on TV, and that some how makes him an expert? Give me a break, so next time I need surgery, will I seek Dr. McDreamy's help.

Very Disturbing nonetheless.

it is interesting that, like Bucannan pointed out, that we revear so many slave owners among our forefathers, but people are unable to forgive polygamy among the mormon beginings. the majority of those who participated in mormon polygamy did so willingly and lived happy lives, because they had faith in what they knew was truth.
and as far as I understand blacks were allowed to be members of the mormon faith, just not holdthe priesthood. I say just, completely understanding how that still was an oppression.
considering that desegragation in much of the south was still taking place well into the 70's why is this such a huge issue? and to be sure I do not have a great knowledge of all of these issues, this is just my small understanding and opinions.
it really burnsme that they would use an actor as an "expert" and not apologize in any way for mis leading the public with his made up facts. that is a real slap in the face, not to at least refute with a real "expert" like a professor or something. just brings me back to the feeling that this MUST be the truth. if it were not, the under powers that be would not be fighting SO hard against mormons and misleading everyone else about what we believe.
thanks for keeping me more informed Julio!

What I find interesting is how our faith makes certain people so angry. We excite as much fervor in the extreme right community as islamic terrorists. if we had our own religious state somewhere in the world- evangelicals would be writing their congressmen to declare war on us.

Michelle, you are so right! Our faith is the source for a lot of anger. I just don't understand why people have to bash? You don't see anti-Catholic or anti-Baptist propaganda fluttering around. And you don't see Latter Day Saints publicly ripping on other churches.

I think it was President Eyring who said that "those who leave the Church can never leave it alone."
Maybe that is the case...they know it is true, but fight against it.

Wow, that is disturbing. Yes, Amanda I too find it interesting that we can overlook so many sins of the nation's fore-fathers, but not the Mormon's for polygamy. An intesting thing happened up here the other day. A black man who is a wonderful part of our community - has a florring business, is known as Dave the Tile guy - when not doing floors is out on the corner dancing and smiling and waving his sign - directing people to his little office in a not too great location. Anyhow, there have been a number of people shouting racist remarks at him. Saturday he was hit and run over - on purpose by a guy in a blue truck. Fortunately the guy was well known in the community, was seen doing it and was tracked down by the police. Dave is okay, after several days in the hospital and has refused to press charges as he hopes this many will consider what he has done and soften his heart. It made us sick to think people could be so horrilbe. Many people have come to Dave's aide, with cards and money for his hospital bills - he has no insurance.
